The Garden Route is a paradise for nature exploration and cultural experience, with its all year round temperate climate and exquisite scenery, mountain and forest trails, water sports, bungee jumping, sky diving, arts, crafts, outdoor African theatre, a wide variety of great restaurants and more. Weekends may be full and entertaining OR quiet and reflective, according to one’s own choice!
Volunteers will be taken on outings to the local primate, elephant and bird sanctuaries, as well as on trips to the various beaches, the local caves, other places of interest, and to the nearby towns of Plettenberg Bay and Knysna over the weekends. (Where an entrance fee applies, volunteers will cover this cost.)
Back at the Lodge, volunteers gather socially in the Log Cabin Lounge and Wild Tongue Bar, where drinks and snacks may be purchased, or around the open fire on the braai patio. There is a large swimming pool and mapped out forest walks from the Lodge. There are three friendly horses and three friendly dogs!
Wireless Internet & Internet facilities are available.
This is a unique opportunity for an enjoyable and meaningful working holiday in one of the safest and most exquisite regions of sunny South Africa, allowing our valued volunteers a gentle balance of work and play!
We encourage volunteers to make commitments in blocks of at least four weeks. There is no limit to the length of stay on condition that there is a positive energy exchange occurring.
